  • Can you repair cars?

We only work on medium- and heavy-duty gas vehicles and diesel trucks at Lesher Diesel.

  • Are diesel engines hard to repair?

Although diesel engines provide superior power and torque over gasoline-powered vehicles, they are actually easier to work with when it comes to repair and maintenance services. Maintenance is a priority when it comes to diesel engines.

  • Do you offer air conditioning repair?

    Yes.

  • Do you work on refrigerated trailers?

    Yes.

  • What extra maintenance does a diesel truck need?

Filters as well as crucial fluids. Fluids must be maintained in good condition, at adequate levels, including:

    • Specific diesel engine oil
    • Exhaust treatment fluid
    • Power steering fluid
    • Coolant
    • Brake fluid
    • Automatic transmission fluid
    • Rear differential fluid
  • What is the service interval for a truck?

The average mileage for basic truck service ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Basic truck service includes an inspection of the truck's brakes and lights, as well as oil and lubricant changes and refills.

  • How often should heavy equipment be serviced?

We recommend heavy equipment be serviced every 250-500 hours.

  • What's the worst thing for a diesel engine?

A clogged air filter restricts airflow to the engine, causing reduced power and an increase in fuel consumption. Very dirty oil and fuel filters can lead to poor lubrication, increased engine wear, and even engine failure.

  • What is the main cause of diesel engine failure?

This issue can most likely be attributed to loss of cylinder compression, which happens when piston rings, valves, head gaskets, and related components wear out. If your truck continues to experience these issues and/or loses power, your diesel engine will eventually fail.
